{Crushed Beetle Lemonade}
Kiwi, frozen lemonade concentrate, water, and ice

So Halloween on a Wednesday + HW + 8 am class on Thursday = Worst Halloween EVER! And if you didn't notice from the amount or crap I posted last year, Halloween is my favorite holiday. This year unfortunately I'm keeping it low key, with Oceanography homework, Portfolio homework, scary movies and Doctor Who. I was gonna wear my witchy costume all by myself but that seemed kinda sad, and slightly uncomfortable. So instead i'm wear my new TARDIS dress, which is still costumey-ish but super comfy.

Fall Photoshoot

Had a photoshoot last weekend that went amazingly well. I had to take a Styling for Photography class ages ago which I despised. Every week I would stress myself out trying to find a photographer, model, make-up artist, and realistic attainable theme. Models would be all diva-like or flake out on me. I thought I had put that all behind me. Until last thursday when my portfolio teacher "suggested" I do a photoshoot of the jewlery I make (and have been meaning to sell on etsy). Luckily my awesome cousin pulled through for me, and got his friend to model for me. She did her own hair and make-up, and actually had some modeling experience. It was super chill, which is just the way I like it.

Zombie Fitness & Peanut Butter Protein Shake

    So I was formerly the laziest person in the world. The only workouts I ever did was on my Wii or walking around Target shopping >.< Oh and by the way Wii Active 2 is actually really good... if you stick to it, which I usually didn't. But the whole fitness craze on Pinterest has really inspired me to get in shape. I'm not really overweight but I want to be stronger, leaner and healthier over all. I’m even attempting to become a runner through the Couch to 5K program. If someone had told me this 4 years ago I would've laughed in their face. One of my favorite fitness apps for obvious reasons is:

There's interval training where zombies chase you and it's run or die. However you don't have to be a runner to enjoy the app. You can turn off the zombie chase and simply walk and listen to the story line & your playlist while collecting supplies for your town.

Peanut Butter Lover Protein Shake
{original link found here}
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 tablespoon natural peanut butter
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 banana (preferably frozen)
3-5 ice cubes
Blend & Enjoy

Spicy Moroccan Chicken Skewers

{Original recipe from Cooking Light June 2012 Issue}

1 1/2 T minced fresh garlic
1 1/2 T chile paste (I didn't find any so I just used tubed chopped chili's)
2 T olive oil
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground coriander
5/8 tsp kosher salt, divided
4 skinless, boneless chicken thighs cut into 36 pieces (I used chicken breasts)
1/2 a yellow bell pepper, cut into 12 pieces
12 cherry tomatos
cooking spray
1/4 cup plain 2% reduced-fat Greek yogurt

Serve with hot cooked couscous. Give the couscous nutty flavor by toasting it in a hot pan before you rehydrate it.
  1. Combine first 5 ingredients in large bowl; stir in 1/8 tsp salt. Add chicken pieces to bowl and mix to coat it as evenly as possible. Put chicken in a ziplock bag and let marinate in the fridge for 2 hours.
  2. If you're using wooden skewers let them soak in water for 30 minutes. Drain and pat dry.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove chicken from marinade. Thread 3 chicken pieces, 1 pepper piece, and 1 tomato alternately onto each skewer. Or just do it how ever the hell you want. Sprinkle evenly with remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt. Arrange skewers on grill rack coated with cooking spray. Grill 4 minutes on each side or until done. Serve with yogurt.
Oh and don't forget the wine ;)
I'm no wine expert but this is a good one at a reasonable price.

The Baconator Pizza

So after I saw how amazing my pizza turned out I had to post again.
To be fair my boyfriend rolled the dough out, the one I did was pretty tragic.

/Pizza Dough/Ragu Pizza Sauce/6 Cheese Italian Shredded Cheese/
/Sliced Mushrooms/BACON/

Follow directions for whatever pizza dough you buy (or make). For mine
I baked it at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

Succulents Galore

I'm kind of prone to neglecting and therefore murdering my plants. So recently i've been obsessed with succulents and cacti. I know they can take a bit of abuse but with such pretty plants they'll be impossible to ignore... I hope. I can't wait to buy (or make!) a pretty macrame pot hanger for the first one. They have some nice ones on Etsy.

Crockpot Chicken Tacos
Crazy good & crazy easy!
Found on pinterest but it was pinned from this blog.

 1 envelope Taco Seasoning (I used Old El Paso Reduced Sodium)
6 pieces Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
1 16-ounce jar Salsa (I used Newman's Own)

Put the taco seasoning and salsa into a crock pot and stir to blend. Then put chicken in and cook on high for 4 to 6 hours or on low for 6 to 8 hours. When done, the chicken should shred easily when stirred with a fork.

This is very versatile and can be used for tacos, enchiladas, nachos, tostadas, quesadillas, etc. Any leftover chicken can also be used for tortilla soup. If you go to the original blog post there's a recipe for tortilla soup which I didn't try yet.

    Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

    Found this recipe on Pinterest but the original recipe is from here.

    {NEEDED}
    6 ripe bananas, mashed
    I used 5 1/2 because I accidentally dropped the other half in the garbage >.<
    1/2 cup melted butter
    1/2 cup canola oil
    1 cup sugar
    1 cup brown sugar
    2 eggs beaten
    1 tsp salt
    2 tsp baking soda
    4 cups flour
    1 bag dark chocolate chips

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
    Mix together ingredients through baking soda. Add flour and mix until just blended, taking care not to overmix. Fill two greased loaf pans 3/4 full and bake about an hour or when tooth pick comes out clean. I used the new mini squares pan that a bought from Target and a regular cupcake pan. I was up baking at midnight so I didn't really pay attention to how long they were in oven. I just kept checking on the them, when they smelled and looked done, I stabbed them with a toothpick to confirm it.
